Kate Beckinsale’s cryptic posts before quitting Instagram have fans worried

Kate Beckinsale has deleted her Instagram account after sharing a series of cryptic and concerning posts.
The Underworld star, 53, posted an Instagram Story of a rainbow over a suburban street on Sunday with the caption, “congratulations you won I give up”.

On her main grid, she shared a simple post with a black background and the word “bye” emblazoned in white letters.
Moments later, her entire account had vanished. It appears to have been deleted by the actress herself.
Just Jared reported that before Beckinsale wiped her account from the platform, she shared a link in her bio that redirected to a BBC article titled, “Caroline Flack death: Will people now ‘be kind’ in the media and online?“.
Flack, a popular TV presenter who hosted the UK versions of The X Factor and Love Island, died by suicide in 2020.
She had faced significant social media backlash in the leadup to her death.
Flack had been charged with assaulting her boyfriend and pleaded not guilty at trial, but faced merciless trolling over the situation.
Beckinsale referencing Flack’s passing before she quit Instagram has left many fans concerned for her wellbeing.
The beloved actress has been open about struggling with cruel online trolls, especially after her mother died in 2025.
Beckinsale’s mother “died in [her] arms” and she struggled cope with the “shock and trauma” of her death after a cancer battle.

She took time away from social media to process her grief, only to be flooded with comments about her appearance when she returned.
“You take a break from Instagram for several months following the death of your mother, delete all of your posts and explain in some considerable detail about what you may have lost weight including the fact that weight loss is one of the very first physical signs of bereavement,” Beckinsale wrote at the time.
“I think people might be broken.”
More recently, Beckinsale shared a raw video about navigating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and urging people to be kind to one another.

“There are men and women and children who have seen such absolute horror or experienced such absolute horror that their nervous system is permanently altered as a result,” she said.
“A lot of those people become incredibly good at masking it, and it’s sad because they become so good that they get no grace whatsoever.
“They get up, they go to work, they look after their kids, they provide for their family, they have a laugh, they’re the fun person, but they don’t sleep for more than an hour because when they do, it’s full of nightmares.”
