Karl Stefanovic breaks silence after 'TODAY' announcement

Karl Stefanovic has spoken for the first time since revealing he has finished up with TODAY after 14 years.

The TV presenter was photographed on his honeymoon with Jasmine Yarbrough in Aspen today and was asked if he had any comments.

"I am looking forward to getting back to the sunshine," he said in video obtained by the Daily Telegraph, as he walked arm-in-arm with Yarbrough, who he married on Saturday, December 8 at the One&Only Palmilla resort in Cabo, Mexico.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Stefanovic could end up working for Nine in the US.

"The US correspondent job has been floated with Karl, it would be a good option for both parties," an insider told the publication. "Karl has worked in the US on a number of big stories for Nine and Jasmine (Yarbrough) lived in LA for many years before moving back to Australia for Karl."

An announcement on the new line-up and format of the TODAY show will be made in the coming weeks.

There is growing speculation as to who will replace Stefanovic as the frontman of TODAY.

One option is Brenton Ragless.

Ragless is Nine's newsreader in Adelaide and presents the 6pm one-hour Bulletin alongside fellow South Australian Kate Collins. He's currently filling in for Stefanovic alongside Deb Knight, who has been keeping Georgie Gardner's seat warm over the summer break.

Another rumour is that Nine might opt for an all-female line-up for 2019, and names including Allison Langdon and Knight have been thrown around.
