Kaley Cuoco asks court to deny spousal support in split from husband Karl Cook

Kaley Cuoco has asked a court to deny her husband Karl Cook spousal support, as the pair begin divorce negotiations.

The Big Bang Theory star announced her split last week, after three years of marriage from the equestrian.

Filing for divorce on September 3, the pair said there was "no anger or animosity" in a joint statement regarding their split.

"Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realised that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions," it read.

"We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together."

The Blast reports the actress is requesting the denial of spousal support to either parties, due to their prenups.

The documents also stated the date of separation as "to be determined".

A source close to the Cuoco told People she is "doing fine."

They added the former couple "haven't spent that much time together recently."

"She has a big career and puts that first in her life. It's basically growing apart and each pursuing separate interests."

Last week, a source close to the Flight Attendant actress told Us Weekly she has an "ironclad prenup" in place.

The Superior Court of California ordered both parties to share their financial information — owned both separately and together — and debts, within 60 days.

Numerous outlets have placed Cuoco's net worth at US$100 million (approx. $134 million) — not including royalties — garnered from her years as a child actress and with the star later earning up to $1 million per episode of the Big Bang Theory's final two seasons.

Cuoco began dating Cook in 2016 and got engaged on her birthday in November the following year.

The actress was previously married to tennis star Ryan Sweeting for just 21 months.

"I honestly thought I wouldn't get married again," she told Cosmopolitan at the time.

"My ex ruined that word for me. I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn't my fault — that was his.

"I knew how much I had to give and how much I wanted to receive. I knew I just had to be patient … I had to go through a lot of things, but it brought me to Karl."
