John Travolta recalls 'awkward' moment watching wife Kelly Preston's sex scene with Tom Cruise

Being married to a successful actress can be awkward. Just ask John Travolta.

While appearing on Friday's episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, the 65-year-old actor hilariously recalled the moment he saw actress Kelly Preston, his wife of 28 years, in a sex scene with Tom Cruise in the 1996 hit Jerry Maguire.

"You don't even know what awkward is… until you sit in the screening of Jerry Maguire and you don't know that scene is coming up and your wife is with Tom Cruise in the middle of something, that is astonishing," the Grease alum said. "That's awkward. I had no idea."

Furthering that point, Corden reminded Travolta that in the scene, Preston's character Cruise's Jerry Maguire to "never ever stop f---ing me."

"That was rough," Travolta said with a smile.

Travolta has been married to Preston, 57, since 1991. They met while filming 1987's The Experts.

The happy couple share three children: daughter Ella, 19, son Benjamin, nine, and late son Jett, who sadly passed away at age 17 in 2009 due to illness complications.

Travolta toasted his wife on her birthday on October 13, sharing a photo of their family yacht trip, which also included Look Who's Talking co-star Kirstie Alley!

"Celebrating Kelly's birthday with family and friends," he captioned the sweet snap.
