John Travolta and his daughter Ella share dance in tribute to the late Kelly Preston

John Travolta shared a sweet moment with his daughter Ella in a tribute to his late wife,Kelly Preston.

In a video uploaded to his Instagram (watch it above), the father-daughter duo are seen dancing together in honour of the 20-year-old's "mumma".

"My daughter @ella.travolta and I dancing in memory of mumma," wrote the 66-year-old Hollywood star in the video's caption. "One of Kelly's favourite things, dancing with me."

John is seen spinning his daughter around on the dance floor as soft piano music can be heard in the background.

Preston died last month on July 12 aged 57 following a two-year battle with breast cancer.

"It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer," John wrote on Instagram at the time alongside a photo of Preston. "She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. Kelly's love and life will always be remembered.

"I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don't hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal."

Sharing the same photograph of the late actress, Ella shared a touching tribute to her mother in the wake of her death.

"I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you," she wrote. "Anyone who is lucky enough to have known you or to have ever been in your presence will agree that you have a glow and a light that never ceases to shine and that makes anyone around you feel instantly happy."

Ella ended her post by saying, "I love you so much mama" while noting that she "made life so beautiful".

Sadly, the Travoltas are no strangers to tragedy.

In 1977, a 23-year-old John lost his then girlfriend Diana Hyland, 41, also to breast cancer.

Then in January 2009, the Grease star's 16-year-old son Jett Travolta passed away while the family were on holiday in The Bahamas.

Jett, who had a history of seizures dating back to his childhood, fell mid-seizure and struck his head in the bath. He was rushed to hospital but could not be revived.
