Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita are expecting their first child

Their modern family is growing!

Actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and husband Justin Mikita are expecting their first child together, Modern Family star Ferguson confirmed while appearing on Thursday's episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden.

The happy reveal happened after host James Corden asked Ferguson if turning 40 "was a big deal, just psychologically?"

"Yeah," the 41-year-old TV star responded. "You know what it is? It's like you said, it's when you finally become an adult, I feel like I need to start getting serious about things."

He continued, joking with the audience, "This is something I haven't even mentioned to anyone, if we can keep it between the three of us and you all. I'm actually expecting a baby in July with my husband! But shhh, don't tell anyone. Let's just keep it between us."

While Ferguson admitted that he's "very excited," he revealed, "But it feels like I'm 44 now. I'm like, let's get this show going! I mean, it's already tick tock!"

Corden could barely contain his excitement as he asked if Ferguson knew whether the baby is a boy or girl, to which Ferguson quipped, "A human."

Ferguson has been married to Mikita, an actor and producer, since 2013. Their baby joy comes as Ferguson's beloved TV show Modern Family is ending after 11 seasons, with the final episode set to air in April.
