One year on from their secret nuptials, Jesinta Franklin (née Campbell) is opening up about married life with Lance "Buddy" Franklin.

The 26-year-old model, who stars on the March cover of Marie Claire Australia with her AFL player love, says the couple's relationship barely changed after saying "I do".

"On the [wedding] day, you do feel like there is a deeper connection -- but I don't think the day-to-day stuff changes," Jesinta told Sunrise hosts Samantha Armytage and David Kochie on Thursday.

She added, jokingly, "I mean, I still yell at him for not putting the bins out on Thursday morning."

As for whether the high-profile couple are still basking in newlywed bliss?

"He's romantic in his own 'Buddy' romantic way," she explained. "For me, romance is in the simple things.

"If I come home and the house is clean and there's dinner on the table, that to me, is the most romantic gesture."

Later, Jesinta appeared on The Morning Show where she laughed off host Larry Edmur's comment comparing her and Buddy to Britain's power couple David and Victoria Beckham.

"Well, I don't have a $55 million mansion in London," the former Miss Universe said. "We have a very modest home in [Sydney's] Rose Bay. So I don't think we're quite Posh and Becks just yet."

The couple bought their four-bedroom, three-bathroom property for $2.35 million in 2014. And last year, it was reported they are planning to add a $60,000 lap pool to the mix.
