She played one of the most-loved TV characters ever in her breakthrough role as Rachel in the hit comedy, Friends. 

But it didn't take long for Jennifer Aniston to graduate from small screen staple to solid gold movie star, and the undisputed queen of romantic comedies. 

Let's revisit some of her best films since she waved goodbye to Central Perk. 

Rumor Has It

Aniston portrayed Sarah Huttinger in the 2005 film Rumor Has It, a dramatisation of the fictional Robinson family from The Graduate. 

While attending her sister's wedding, Sarah learns that her mother and grandmother have been keeping a massive family secret from her… they were the inspiration for the 1963 novel The Graduate by Charles Webb, and her father might not be who she thinks he is.

Love Happens

Starring alongside Aaron Eckhart in 2009, Aniston played a florist who skeptically embarks on a relationship with a life coach. 

Ironically, it turns out that he is the one who needs self-help to deal with the grief and guilt of losing his wife.

It's a tear-jerker, but well worth it for the romantics out there. Love Happens, you guys. 

The Switch

In 2010, Aniston appeared in The Switch, where she played a woman determined to get pregnant by artificial insemination. 

Unbeknownst to her, the sperm sample she thinks belongs to her chosen donor has been switched by her drunken ex-boyfriend (Jason Bateman) and she ends up having his child instead. 

Just Go With It

Teaming up with comedy legend Adam Sandler in 2011, Aniston starred in the hilarious film Just Go With It. 

As the loyal assistant to a plastic surgeon, she agrees to act as his fake ex-wife so that he can cover up a careless lie and land the girl of his dreams. 

Life of Crime 

Switching it up, Aniston played the kidnapped wife of a wealthy man who refuses to pay her ransom in the 2013 black comedy Life of Crime. 

Alongside Aussie Isla Fisher, she deftly demonstrates the expert comic timing she honed through years of practice in film and TV.
