Jenna Dewan reveals how she found love again after Channing Tatum breakup

Steve Kazee is clearly no stranger to the treacherous world of modern dating, sliding into the DMs of Jenna Dewan in the ultimate act of 21st-century chivalry.  

After her split from Channing Tatum in 2018, whom she shares 10-year-old daughter Everly with, Dewan wasn't far off from finding her next beau.

Whilst speaking on the recent episode of Dear Media's Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, she detailed the hilarious events of their first romantic interaction.

The Step Up star opened her phone one day to see a GIF sent from the Shameless alum, "He sent me a GIF of Steph Curry shooting a shot and said, 'Hey.'"

Unlike the general rules of DM sliding, the actor didn't use Instagram, instead opting to communicate through X (formerly known as Twitter).

"I wrote back and I said, 'I'm sorry, I don't think this is for me,''" Dewan admitted, not understanding the nature of his message. 

She then said with a laugh: "He was shooting his shot and I didn't get it."  

The pair first met years before Kazee shot his shot, meeting when Dewan's mother saw him in the Broadway production of Once. 

She says their exchange was brief, with Dewan praising him on his performance, a compliment that stuck with the actor and played a pivotal role in their budding romance.

"It was truly out of a movie," the actress recalled, saying they caught each other's eye.

"Years later – of course, it's public that I was separated – and we just reconnected. He apparently never forgot that moment either. It's kinda cute."

The pair have been inseparable ever since, announcing their engagement in February 2020, just five months after it was revealed that they were pregnant with their first child together. 

"It all happened quite fast," Dewan said whilst replaying Kazee's proposal. "It felt like it was [a] meant-to-be situation."

All these years later, they share son Callum together and the pair are now growing their family, with another baby boy being born last week.

"Today, our angel baby made of literal golden light sunshine is turning 4 and there are no words to express the gift that you are to all of us! ," she captioned the Instagram post.
