Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet hadn't walked a carpet together in nearly two years before their split

Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet had not been seen together on a red carpet almost two years prior to their split.

On Wednesday, the couple announced that after five years of marriage they were "parting ways." But it appears they had been growing distant long before their split.

They last posed for photos at an event in February 2020.

Momoa, 42, and Bonet, 54, walked the carpet at the Tom Ford AW20 Show at Milk Studios on February 7, 2020 in Hollywood. For every event that followed, Momoa appeared without his wife, either walking the red carpet on his own or accompanied by his two kids — Lola, 14, and Nakoa-Wolf, 13 — whom he shares with Bonet.

The Aquaman star and his wife announced they are ending their marriage in a statement released on Momoa's Instagram.

"We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times … A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception … feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring," the pair wrote in a note shared on the social media platform.

"And so~ We share our Family news~ That we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it's newsworthy ~ But so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty."

"The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived," the statement continued. "We free each other ~to be who we are learning to become … Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life & our Children Teaching our Children What's possible ~ Living the Prayer May Love Prevail J & L."

The couple first met at a jazz club in 2005 after being introduced by mutual friends. They tied the knot in 2017 after 12 years of dating.

Bonet was previously married to rocker Lenny Kravitz from 1987 to 1993. They share a daughter together: actress Zoë Kravitz, 33.
