'Everything hurts': Jamie Foxx mourns death of longtime friend Keith Jefferson

Jamie Foxx is in mourning after his longtime friend and collaborator, Keith Jefferson, died.

Taking to Instagram to post tributes, Foxx shared pictures he took with Jefferson as he battled cancer.

"This one hurts. Keith, you've been nothing but absolute grace, your whole life your heart is pure your love is immeasurable you were an amazing soul," the 55-year-old wrote.

"We will all miss you dearly. It's gonna take a long time for this to heal. Goodbye, my friend. I love you," he said in post where he sat with Jefferson in what appears to be a hospital."

Foxx also began reminiscing, sharing a photo from the past where he is shaking hands with Jefferson.

"Everything hurts right now having a hard time looking through these pictures reliving the memories of us having a great time going to miss you man gonna miss you…" the actor wrote.

"[Ever] since we met back in college, you have been in incredible soul God rest, NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE TO SEE THE WORDS ABOUT MY FRIEND RIP".

Foxx and Jefferson have been friends for decades, with the actor, director, and producer having appeared on two episodes of Foxx's sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show in 1998.

They continued to work together, with Jefferson having roles in many Quentin Tarantino works some which also featured Foxx, including Django Unchained (2012), The Hateful Eight (2015), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), and more.

He was also in Foxx's 2022 film Day Shift and his new movie The Burial, which Jefferson called his "most important role to date."

Foxx has been suffering a health battle of his own, having been mysteriously rushed to hospital in April.

He has since recovered, telling his fans two months ago, "You're lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself…".
