Jai no! <i>Slumdog Millionaire</i> couple Dev Patel and Freida Pinto split after six years

Pass us the tissues, please: Too-cute-for-words Slumdog Millionaire couple Dev Patel and Freida Pinto have split up.

The adorable pair dated for six years after meeting on the set of the Oscar-winning film in 2008… but it wasn't meant to be.

"Dev and Freida have broken up," a source told Us Weekly. "They have been done for a while."

The warning signs came in October when Freida celebrated her 30th birthday with billionaire Siddharth Mallya and without her 24-year-old Newsroom star beau Dev.

What was she doing exactly? Erm, pole-dancing on a parking meter outside an LA strip club, as these pictures show…

Well, Freida did pole dance and strip for Bruno Mars last year in his steamy 'Gorilla' clip...

But Freida denied the rumours she was dating 27-year-old aspiring actor Siddharth, whose father owns Indian alcohol company UB Group.

"It was a bunch of young people having fun. That's it. There was nothing more to it," the Rise of the Planet of the Apes actress told Indian press. "Sid happened to be in Los Angeles, and we are part of the same friends circle."

Another source confirmed with Us: "Freida is single and happy. Friends are setting her up."

And to think that Dev and Freida once described each other as "soul mates". Sad-face.

Freida was previously engaged to her publicist, Rohan Antao, before dating her Slumdog co-star.
