Holy smokes Batman! First pic of Ben Affleck as the caped crusader here

There's a new Dark Knight in Gotham city… and it's Ben Affleck! The first pic of the award-winning actor in his Batman costume has been revealed… and it's getting us real excited for the new Batman Vs. Superman flick.

Director Zac Snyder teased Batman fans by tweeting an insanely buff snap of Ben as the caped crusader… alongside a sneak peek post of the iconic Batmobile. Now if only we could get rid of that pesky tarp in the pic below…

Despite fan outrage over Ben's controversial casting as Batman, the actor told talk show host Jimmy Fallon "his skin is thicker than the Kevlar Batsuit."

"I handle s---," the 42-year-old actor told Fallon. "I'm very tough despite the criticism." See that video moment below...

Beefcake Ben will star as Batman opposite Henry Cavill's Superman in the highly-anticipated Man of Steel sequel due out in 2016.
