Hilaria Baldwin updates fans following tragic miscarriage

Alec Baldwin's wife Hilaria Baldwin has updated fans after revealing she suffered a miscarriage in an emotional Instagram post yesterday.

"Eyes swollen from crying, groggy from anaesthesia, crampy from the surgery… but I made it and I want you to know that I'm physically OK," she shared on social media today.

"I'm grateful for my family, friends, doctors and nurses, and all of you who have held my hand through this difficult time," she continued. "You have no idea how much this means to me. One foot in front of the other… now I begin the healing journey."

Hilaria was four months pregnant when she lost the baby girl.

Tragically, this was Hilaria's second miscarriage this year, after she lost a baby in April.

Alec and Hilaria are parents to Carmen, six, Rafael, four, Leonardo, three, and Romeo, 17 months.

Hilaria also posted to her Instagram Stories thanking everyone for their support and sympathy.

"I didn't know so many tears existed in my body," she said. "I'm trying to be present for my grief but understand that life goes on and there is still beauty, even in darkness."

The mother-of-four posted a video to Instagram yesterday with her daughter Carmen saying that she will try and give her "a little sister another time".

She continued saying that although the family is not OK right now, they will be and are "very lucky with our four healthy babies and we will never lose sight of this."
