George Clooney shares the hilarious way he tells his twins apart, story behind their names

George Clooney is settling into fatherhood extremely well, so much that he's having some fun with it.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight during the Venice Film Festival on Friday, where he's promoting his new movie Suburbicon, the 56-year-old actor playfully described the distinct personalities of his two-month-old twins, Alexander and Ella.

"They start out with a personality right off the bat," George began.

"[Alexander] is a thug already. You saw him," he joked with close friend Matt Damon. "He's a moose! Literally, he just sits and he eats."

Matt chimed in: "He looks like he could bounce right now, some place in Hollywood."

"Like, checking IDs on the way into the nursery," the Ocean's Eleven star continued. As for daughter Ella, he explained: "She's very elegant, and all eyes. She looks like Amal, thank god."

The proud father also revealed that he and his human rights attorney wife chose to break Hollywood's tradition of unusual baby names. They "just didn't want to have really dumb names," he added.

"We figured these kids are going to be looked at a lot and watched and [have their] every move sort of judged, and we wanted them to at least have a break with the names," he shared. "So we looked for some sort of normal names. We didn't have any great inspiration. It wasn't Alexander the Great and Ella Fitzgerald."

"Alexander Hamilton?" questioned Matt.

"It was Alexander Hamilton," George shot back.

George and Amal, 39, welcomed Alexander and Ella in June. The family has settled at their home in Lake Como, Italy, since their arrival.
