The From Season 4 finale is the most disturbing in show’s history – I can’t stop thinking about it

Opinion: Well, From has once again delivered another nerve-wracking finale for Season 4 with one of the most disturbing twists in the show’s history, proving why it’s a must-watch.  

Let’s just kick things off by making it very clear: there are SPOILERS AHEAD. But if you, like me, can’t stop thinking about the episode or just want to get in on the action, continue on. 

Honestly, since I watched the Season 4 finale on Stan I can’t stop talking about it and at first, I had absolutely no words to describe how I felt about what I saw.

The episode, which is titled, If a Tree Falls in the Forest... and the Bottle Tree seemed to be the crux of the entire episode. 

OK so we knew for a long time that the Bottle Tree meant something but my god I don’t think anyone – especially Boyd and the rest of the people trapped in the nightmare town – expected pulling it down to send things into complete chaos. 

Tabitha and Jade seemed to have it all locked down with the makeshift wall in the tunnels as they dug for the bones – but as soon as the tree came out things took a wild turn.

A window to the sky basically opened up, leaving the monsters in the tunnel able to walk straight in, and this is all just in the first minutes of the episode. 

In true From style nothing went right, Boyd’s plan to get them straight out went from bad to worse, and it’s obviously got fans desperate for more answers about the bottle tree and why it matters so much.

Of course the horror aspect was ramped up once again, with the town plunging into darkness in the middle of the day. 

The creatures only come out at night – so with darkness enveloping the town like never before – they came out and what happened next is what I can only describe as one of the most disturbing moments in From history. 

Not going to spoil what happened next, that’s on you to watch and process on your own.  

With a couple of major characters being killed off, the producers made it clear no one was safe and it seems to be just the beginning if you look at what’s still been left unanswered. 

Henry’s struggle with where his reality is only got worse and it looked like he really was going to follow through with the delusions he has been having – thanks to Sophia – but Victor shut it down. 

Their relationship as it heads into the final season will be a tough one to watch after that moment in the bedroom. 

But the two biggest moments came at the end of the episode. 

The most wild twist was Fatima, who has now realised how close she is with the monsters and her realisation of what she must do to save Ellis, Boyd and the others. 

Despite it being clear for a long time that a darkness had started to take over her body, what happened in the tunnels was heartbreaking, horrifying and completely unexpected. 

In the final scene the Boy in White emerged again alongside Sophia. 

“You’re going to lose this time,” he told her. 

It felt as though Jade and Tabitha had finally got the upper hand on the whole situation, with the safe removal of the bones, but as we’ve learnt it’s never really the case on From. 

Sophia seemed unfazed by it all, and happily informed him that “the Bottle Tree is gone”. 

With that new update good news to her – and the man in yellow – it can only be bad. 

Throughout the episode we also saw her collect the talisman’s from every home, the police station, the diner and even Colony House, and then dump them into a faraway tree as the episode finished. 

With no Bottle Tree, no talismans and the townspeople thrown into chaos with two – possibly three – major deaths, Season 4 ended on one of the biggest cliffhangers in the show’s history. 

Fans have been left with way more questions than answers and the wait for the new season is going to be brutal. 

So… on that I think it’ll be back to rewatching it from the start to keep myself busy.
