Sydney explodes and Wolverine's metal claws make a surprise cameo in the new X-Men: Apocalypse trailer
Will he or won't he? That's the question that's been on the minds of superhero geeks everywhere about the upcoming X-Men sequel.
As it turns out, Wolverine does make an appearance…or at least that's the evidence dropped in the new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. Wolverine's metal claws pop up at the very end, to the delight of Hugh Jackman fans everywhere.
No one has been sure what role Hugh's beloved mutant would play in the ninth X-Men movie and first since 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past.
But even without Wolverine's claws, the new trailer packs a lot of thrills into two and a half minutes. Jennifer Lawrence takes centre stage as Raven, who must lead the band of merry mutants against a newly awakened Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant.
Oh, and yes, the Sydney Opera House explodes. But don't worry, it's just a movie.
The Twitter reaction to the trailer was enthusiastic as the Wolverine tease built fan excitement.
James McAvoy, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Olivia Munn, Oscar Isaac and two-time Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender will join the fun when X-Men: Apocalypse hits cinemas on May 18.
