Troye Sivan helps a fan come out as bisexual to her mum during a concert

At least one fan who attended Troye Sivan's concert this week in Washington DC will remember the night less for anything the 20-year-old sang than for a totally unscripted moment between songs.

It started when she gave Troye a note to read aloud onstage. Nothing too strange there, right? Well, hold on a bit.

"Are you sure?" the singer asked before spilling the contents.

YES!!!

"If you're reading this, can you announce that Kelly is bisexual, please?"

Message delivered. And apparently it went over well. Kelly later tweeted a video of her and her mum embracing after the show, along with a message to Troye:

Troye is openly gay, so he no doubt can emphatise with what Kelly had been going through before her brave act of honesty. A moment like this really puts such honours as supposedly being the first openly gay person to win an Oscar in perspective.

Kudos to Troye for being so matter-of-fact about the revelation and treating Kelly's (and his own) sexuality for the non-issue it is.

Who said the song remains the same? Well, Led Zeppelin did. But obviously those guys had never experienced a Troye Sivan show.
