Ewan McGregor's daughter Clara denies throwing shade at him on Instagram

Ewan McGregor's daughter has denied calling the actor an "a--hole" on Instagram.

Clara McGregor, 22, has hit back at suggestions she used that word to describe her famous father, who was rumoured to have left her mum, actress Eve Mavrakis, for his Fargo co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead in 2017.

"Let's make one thing clear. I was not attacking my dad or calling him [an] a--hole," Clara captioned a screenshot on Instagram Stories of a news headline suggesting she had. "I was simple saying she deserves someone who isn't one.... F--- tabloids. Don't believe everything you read."

Two days ago, the model posted a bikini photo of her mother to Instagram with the caption, "My mother, ladies & gentlemen. 50 is the new 30 apparently."

According to Entertainment Tonight, when a follower commented, "Good to know you have the smoke show genes ... keep her away from your boyfriends," Clara reportedly replied, "Nah I keep her away from a**hole men who leave my goddess of a mother. :)"

The comment was swiftly deleted.

This isn't the first time Clara has hit out at her 47-year-old father. Five months ago, she also took a swipe at Winstead, dissing the 34-year-old on an Instagram fan page for the actress.

"Most beautiful and talented woman on earth?? Oh man y'all are delusional. The girl is a piece of trash x," Clara commented on this photo, which she later regretted writing.

Last year, after 22 years of marriage, McGregor officially filed for divorce from Mavrakis, citing irreconcilable differences. They share four daughters together, Clara, Esther and Jamyan, both 17, and Anouk, 8.

"It's disappointing and upsetting," Mavrakis told The Sun on Sunday at the time, "but my main concern is our four children are OK."
