Noughties music legend Enrique Iglesias, at the age of 48, is ready to hang up his microphone.

Well, mostly.

The Hero singer has confirmed his next album – Final (Vol. 2), which is set to be released in early 2024 – will be his last, a move that comes as footage of his tour is going viral on social media, and not necessarily for the right reasons.

"It's finished. It's actually coming out in February," Iglesias told TODAY.com about Final (Vol. 2).

"I've been working on this album for quite a bunch of years. And for me it was always like I said, my final album... this is it," he said.

"I don't think – no, I know, I won't be doing any more albums.

"For me, in my life, I think this is that final one."

Iglesias hasn't been shy about the fact that Final (Vol. 2) will be living up to its name.

It was back in 2021, after all, that the Grammy winner announced he would only be releasing two more albums ever again, and true to his word, Final (Vol. 1) dropped in September of that year.

Iglesias isn't completely calling time on his three-decade-long career in music, however, with the Bailando singer noting he'll still release the odd single and work on music.

His current tour, according to some fans, isn't going swimmingly.

Footage of Iglesias performing on The Trilogy Tour – which features Ricky Martin and Pitbull – has been widespread on social media, and so has the corresponding criticism.

One TikTok video in particular, which has been viewed more than 16.7 million times, shows Iglesias appearing to struggle to stay in tune.

"Front row with my mom and i couldnt stop laughing," TikTok user Ariel Diaz, who shared the footage taken from the audience, wrote alongside the video.

Another TikTok video taken from Iglesias' tour, which has been viewed 10.6 million times, compared his voice to Elmo.

"Waited a lifetime to see Enrique Iglesias sing just to find out he sounds like Elmo and can't sing," the user wrote alongside the clip.

Iglesias, however, did suffer from a bout of pneumonia in May, which saw him pull out of Tecate Emblema festival, where he would have been the headline act.

He has not, at this time, addressed the criticism of his tour performances.
