Emily in Paris is one of the most popular Netflix shows in the last couple of months –– even if you haven't watched it, you've probably heard of it.

From the creator of Sex and The City and Younger, it's about an American girl, Emily, played by Lilly Collins, who moves to – you guessed it – Paris. It received mixed reviews but in a time when a lot of the world has to stay home, many people ended up watching it regardless.

And while it seemed like a simple show and a simple premise, it turns out audiences were getting tripped up by one thing: its name.

Netflix's official Twitter account shared a cute little reminder with all of its followers, about the correct way to pronounce Emily In Paris.

Yep, it's Emily in Par-ee.

Fans are justifiably losing their minds, laughing at the American tendency to mispronounce foreign words.

A few days later a TikTok video went viral laughing at how long it took everyone to realise the title was meant to rhyme. "HOW DID NONE OF US REALISE THIS SOONER," the video was captioned.

The show has just been renewed for a second season, so you have some time to perfect your French accent before it drops.
