It's been over 20 years since Drew Barrymore and Christian Bale went on a date as teenagers, and the former child star is finally explaining why she never returned his calls.

Turns out she had bigger things to worry about at the time.

So what actually went down on the date?

Christian, 41, told GQ magazine back in 2012 that they went to see a "bloody awful horror film" as teenagers and "that was the end of it…she never called again".
