Dr Dre's company accuses ex-wife Nicole Young of stealing money twice amid divorce battle

Dr. Dre's heated divorce battle with estranged wife Nicole Young has hit another road block.

According to TMZ, Dr. Dre's business associate Larry Chatman is accusing Young of stealing money from Record One, a company founded by the rapper, on two seperate occasions.

Chatman claims Young wrote herself a cheque for US$353,571.85 (approx. $496,996) last month, plus an additional US$30,000 (approx. $42,169).

TMZ included a photocopy of the cheque in dispute, which included Young's signature and the exact transaction.

Dr. Dre is allegedly giving Young a week to return the money or face a lawsuit.

Young's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told the media outlet, "This is a clear attempt to smear Nicole's name. As people are well aware, banks do not give out money to people who are not authorised to receive it."

Two months ago, Young filed for divorce from the 55-year-old rapper — whose real name is Andre Young — after 24 years of marriage.

On September 3, it was reported Young was seeking US$2 million (approx. $2.7 million) a month in spousal support amid divorce proceedings.

The former couple has also been in conflict over a prenuptial agreement.

In documents obtained by The Blast, Dr. Dre allegedly ripped up their prenup as a sign of his love for Young after she originally signed it "under pressure" prior to their wedding in 1996. However, Dr. Dre has told the courts his wife signed the document and wants its terms enforced.

Dre has featured in Forbes list of world's wealthiest hip hop artists and is estimated to be worth US$800 million (approx. $1.16 billion). Young claims she is entitled to half his fortune.

Young and Dr. Dre share two children, 23-year-old son Truice and 19-year-old daughter Trul. The rapper also has four children from previous relationships.
