Lorde hooks up with an older man, sets him on fire in the video for Disclosure collab 'Magnets'
This is Lorde as we've never seen her before.
The New Zealand teen who won our hearts by flipping pop music trends and singing about suburban boredom and civilian teenage life is now quite literally living her fantasy.
In a mansion high up in the Hollywood hills, Lorde plays a glamorous and bewitching femme fatale in the video for 'Magnets', her new collaboration with British production duo Disclosure. Check it out, above.
Her provocative role and the song's lusty lyrical content herald a departure for the GRAMMY-winning songwriter. Let's face it, Lorde – aka Ella Yelich-O'Connor – is growing up…and moving up. This is the first time she's written about love or sex.
"Some people love writing about that, and that's fine. But I personally haven't found a way to do it yet which is innovative and feels new to me," she told the New York Times times in 2013.
We guess she's finally figured it out.
