It is understood that Mulroney asked for legal fees to be split between the pair and to share joint custody of their two daughters, Mabel Ray, 17, and Sally June, 15.
People reports the actor also requested spousal support for himself but requested the court's ability to award spousal support to Apollinaare be terminated.
News of the split comes after 15 years of marriage between the two.

Mulroney met Apollinaare, an Italian musician, in 2008. Soon after, they started dating and welcomed their first daughter Mabel that same year.
In 2010, they got married – exchanging vowels in a private ceremony attended by only family and friends.
At the time they met, Apollinaare's name was Tharita Catulle and also went by Tharita Cesaroni (her mother's last name). The singer changed her name for unknown reasons in 2015.
The couple have been relatively quiet about their private lives over the years but have worked together on several projects in their time together.
In 2010, Apollinaare was listed as one of Mulroney's producing partners for a sporting biopic he was set to direct, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Last year, the pair came together to perform on the music game show We Are Family in February 2024.
They were the first married couple to appear on the show which pairs celebrities with their non-famous relatives to perform for an audience and a guessing panel.
Mulroney and Apollinaare performed Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers' Islands in the Stream together.
"It was such an amazing phone call to get that the show reached out to us," Mulroney told Entertainment Weekly at the time.
"They knew Prima's music and put together that we are this sort of secret couple even though we've been together for 20 years. Kind of a stealth Hollywood couple. So it really works perfectly for this show."
