Delta Goodrem admits she had 'wilder days' in her twenties: 'I went through a bit of a phase'

She's known as Australia's sweetheart, but Delta Goodrem wants you all to know that squeaky clean hasn't always been her style.

"I had my wilder days," the 30-year-old told Vogue Australia. "It was a wild chapter, and I needed to do that to get to here.

"I went through a bit of a phase and it was the best thing I've ever done. I had fun with my friends in LA and I have the best friends."

Hmmm. Could this have been Delta's rebound phase after her split with Brian McFadden in 2011?

In the interview for the October issue of the magazine, the singer added that letting out that wild side helped her to chill out a bit.

"You know, for the first time ever in my whole life, genuinely, I don't know where it goes," she said.

But the star, who hit number one with her current single 'Wings', isn't flying completely blind. She'll begin a six-month stint as Grizabella in the Aussie production of Cats The Musical on October 30.
