Daniel Craig says he won't be leaving inheritance to his kids: 'I'll get rid of it'

No time to leave his wealth: Daniel Craig has no plans to leave an inheritance to his children.

In a recent interview with UK's Candis magazine, the Bond star revealed he finds the practice "distasteful."

"Isn't there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you've failed?" he said. "I think Andrew Carnegie gave away what in today's money would be about 11 billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I'll bet he kept some of it, too. But I don't want to leave great sums to the next generation."

"I think inheritance is quite distasteful," he said. "My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go."

Craig has a reported net worth of US$160 million (approx. $220 million) and shares daughter Ella, 29, with his ex-wife Fiona Loudon. The British actor tied the knot with Rachel Weisz in 2011, and they welcomed a daughter together in 2018.

Weisz, 51, also has a son, 15-year-old Henry, with director Darren Aronofsky.

Craig is set to depart from the role of 007 in the upcoming film No Time To Die, which is set to hit cinemas in October. According to GQ, Craig was paid US$25 million (approx. $34 million) to reprise his part.

"I thought I probably was physically not capable of doing another. For me, it was very cut and dried that I wasn't coming back,' Daniel told Total Film in June.
