Australian cycling champion Cadel Evans quietly marries Stefania Zandonella after nine years together
Cadel Evans is married!
The Australian former world cycling champion quietly tied the knot with his long-term partner Stefania Zandonella in Mauritius earlier this month, with Zandonella confirming the news on social media this week.
"Mr and Mrs Evans 👰 🤵♂️ 💍🏝️ 01.06.2024," Zandonella wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the newlyweds kissing on a pier.

It comes weeks after Evans and Zandonella, an Italian skier, celebrated their ninth anniversary.
At the time, Zandonella wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos of the couple over the years: "9 years of love ❤️ @the_real_cadel happy anniversary 🥰 #couple #family #forever".
Evans, one of the three non-Europeans to have won the Tour de France, was previously married to Chiara Passerini for 10 years.
In early 2015, he confirmed he and Passerini had split "some time ago", but said the former couple remained on good terms.
They share 12-year-old son, Robel, whom they adopted from Ethiopia when he was six months old.
Months later, Evans and Zandonella started dating. They share two sons, five-year-old Aidan and three-year-old Blake.

It was in February 2015 when Evans retired from cycling, telling the Sydney Morning Herald's Tom Decent that November: "I have time to appreciate things more and enjoy life more."
"Retirement is great. As a rider, your life is geared around your training program and your recovery because you're judged on your next race and your last race," he continued. "To do that, you make a lot of sacrifices; you say no to so many invites."
Evans, largely regarded as one of Australia's greatest ever athletes after his monumental Tour de France win at the age of 34 and four Olympic Games, will next provide expert analysis as a member of Nine's broadcast team for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
