Britney Spears’ ex Kevin Federline slapped with lawsuit over $167k debt
Britney Spears′ ex-husband Kevin Federline has been hit with a lawsuit after failing to pay back more than $150,000 in debt to a major bank in the US.
The dancer and actor, 48, signed an agreement with City National Bank in 2024 promising to pay off significant debt linked to credit card, a line of credit and an overdraft line, Page Six reported.

He allegedly owed was at least $USD117,704 ($167,000), according to documents obtained by the outlet.
Documents from the lawsuit claim Federline was given an April 2025 deadline to pay off the overdraft debt, and a June 2025 deadline for the line of credit.
The deadline to repay what his credit card debt was August 2026.
City National Bank is now taking legal action to force Federline to repay not just the original amount, but unpaid interest of up to 20.5 per cent on some of the debt.
Federline has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.
However, he has spoken about facing financial difficulties in the past, especially after he and ex-wife Britney Spears split in 2006.
The former couple, who married in 2004 and share two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, finalised their divorce in 2007.
He was awarded sole physical custody of their sons and Spears was ordered to pay $USD40,000 ($57,000) a month in child support while both boys were minors.
That figure was reduced to $USD20,000 ($28,000) in 2023, when Sean Preston turned 18, and the payments stopped the following year, when Jayden James finished high school.

It was around the same time her signed the initial agreement to pay back his debt to City National Bank.
Federline claimed in his memoir You Thought You Knew that the cash Spears paid him went towards security and essentials for the boys, which cost “well over $40,000 a month”.
“The money was gone almost as soon as it came in,” he wrote.
Spears blasted the memoir, calling it “toxic garbage” and saying she “had enough” of him trying to drag her down.
Federline responded to her comments in an interview with Today in 2025.
"So much has been covered up and hidden for the sake of the family and her as well and I'm not trying to hurt her, that is not what's going on here," he said.
"The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt the mother of my children, but what I'm trying to do is gain some support for our sons and my family and the people who actually love her, to figure out a way forward.
"Because right now, the clock is ticking and anybody can see what's going on, even from the outside, you can tell (from her social media videos) there's a dire need for something to happen in this situation and try to get some positivity out of this."
