Brian Austin Green shares cryptic comment about 'feeling smothered' amid rumours of split with Megan Fox

Brian Austin Green rarely opens up on his social media — until now.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum has shared a post with a mysterious caption on Instagram, after his wife, Megan Fox, was seen hanging out with Machine Gun Kelly.

"Eventually butterflies get bored sitting on a flower for too long. They start feeling smothered. It's a great big world and they want to experience it," the 46-year-old captioned a photo of a butterfly on a flower via Instagram on Sunday.

The cryptic message has fans believing that Green could be referencing Fox, 34, who has a tattoo of the quote, "We will all laugh at the gilded butterflies" on her back.

The day before, the Transformers star was spotted and photographed with Machine Gun Kelly in Calabasas, Los Angeles. The pair are costars in the upcoming movie Midnight in the Switchgrass, and were seen getting takeaway in the 30-year-old rapper's Aston Martin before he drove Fox home.

The outing comes amid speculation that Fox and Green have split for the second time. In late April, E! News reported that the pair have been living separately during the coronavirus pandemic, while Green was spotted not wearing his wedding ring.

The two also have not been photographed together for quite a while.

Fox and Green called off their engagement in 2009, two years after the actor proposed. They later rekindled their romance and get married a year later. In 2015 — after five years of marriage — Fox filed for divorce.

The following year, in the midst of their divorce, the actress debuted a baby bump and it appeared the couple were on better terms.

The pair now share three children together: Noah Shannon, seven, Bodhi Ransom, four and Journey River, three. They are yet to publicly address rumours they are splitting.
