<i>Breaking Bad</i>'s Krysten Ritter sparks outrage with intravenous vitamin drip photo

Krysten Ritter has come under fire on Twitter and Instagram for posting a picture of her arm hooked up to an intravenous vitamin drip.

The 32-year-old, who is best known for playing drug addict Jane on Breaking Bad, tweeted the photo on Tuesday with the caption: "Just getting some intravenous vitamins. Nice little Tuesday. Feeling kind of superhuman."

The Veronica Mars star was forced to delete the post when fans hit back with angry comments.

"This is so dangerous," one wrote.

"Was this scene from Breaking Bad?" said another follower.

"Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility," another of her 118,000 Twitter followers wrote.

Krysten is the latest celeb to jump on the vitamin IV drip bandwagon. Rihanna, Madonna, Simon Cowell, Cara Delevingne and Cindy Crawford are among the A-listers who have injected the vitamin and mineral cocktails to boost energy and sharpen performance.

Too much of the vitamin IV drop can be "toxic", according to UK TV doctor Ranj Singh.

"Vitamins are medically active compounds and, as such, can become toxic in high enough doses," Dr Singh told the Mail Online. "If people are feeling tired or run down, they should be looking for answers on a dinner plate, not in an IV."

It doesn't help that celebs like Krysten and Rihanna glamourise the procedure, which can cost up to $1000 a pop. Last year, Rihanna boasted to fans about her "party-girl drip" on Twitter.
