Big Brother Australia: Leaked notes reveal audition process for new season

Big Brother Australia is set to return to TV screens for a new season in 2020, and we already have insight into the gruelling audition process that contestants are subjecting themselves to.

Leaked notes that producers were using during auditions were found in the hallway of the Brisbane's Emporium Hotel, according to TV Blackbox.

A series of loose documents were posted to Facebook yesterday with a mix of thorough instructions to producers that involved a run-sheet and "diary room" scenario.

It's likely that this "diary room" situation is intended to mimic the diary video scenes that typically occur on Big Brother.

Those who aren't successful in the audition process are sent to a room and immediately sent home.

The documents also indicated that those being auditioned would receive a "specific Disney character card" and escorted to another room.

It's assumed that the card reflects the personality of the person being auditioned.

Once producers have finished auditioning contestants, they are allocated 15 minutes to make notes on why they are giving the green light to one person and rejecting another.

Also, in the pile were some sheets of paper that were labelled with "MAFS OR SURVIVOR", "VEGANISM" and "PINEAPPLE ON PIZZA."

It's likely that these were buzz words printed to generate conversation on relevant topics in the audition.

Big Brother initially debuted on Australian screens in 2001 and ran for eight seasons before being dropped.

The franchise was picked up in late October and is expected to be pre-recorded and similar to a Survivor Australia format.

There's no word yet on who is hosting the show, and when it's scheduled to be aired.
