BAFTAs 2020: Hugh Grant calls Renée Zellweger 'Jones' in cute on-stage moment
Hugh Grant just stole the BAFTAs with his Bridget Jones reference after Renée Zellweger bagged the leading actress award for stellar performance in Judy.
Grant, who starred alongside Zellweger in the first two films in the Bridget Jones's Diary franchise appeared onstage shortly after Zellweger had accepted her award for best actress.

The pair exchanged a sweet embrace, before Grant dropped the line of the evening.
"First of all — well done, Jones," Grant said, continuing: "That was a very, very silly little dress."
His joke was a reference to his quote in the film, when he tells Zellweger's character in an intimate scene: "Now, these are very silly little boots, Jones. And this is a very silly little dress."

Grant then included a quip about the pair's other co-star Colin Firth, who he famously competed with for Zellweger's affections in the film.
Zellweger has been on a winning streak this awards season after winning Best Actress at The Golden Globe Awards, SAG awards, and a British Independent Film Awards. The actress is tipped to win the Academy Award for her exceptional performance as Judy Garland next week.
"Always a gentleman, Bob just said 'this is very heavy.' Thank you to the British Academy this is very humbling," Zellweger said when accepting her award.
"To all our crew look what we did! Invited to the BAFTAs, in this town here Judy played her final shows, lived her final days, made in this town by a group of folks who just wanted to collaboratively celebrate her, and look, it's pretty neat.
"Sharing this experience and this evening with you is among my life's great blessings and I'm so grateful. Miss Garland, London town who loved you so much still loves you back."

Zellweger addressed the moment backstage during the BAFTAs press conference saying: "That's really cool. It makes you feel like you're one of the gang, and it's quite a gang to be part of. I appreciate that, I'm very grateful for that."
Naturally, the internet lost its mind at Grant's reunion with Zellweger.
