The red orange carpet just got an injection of gnarly!

When Ellen DeGeneres calls in a favour, you oblige. As was the case with 12-year-old Aussie surfer girl Sabre Norris, who stole the show at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards after she was asked by Ellen herself to cover the carpet.

From Gwen Stefani to Demi Lovato, Sabre had to remind herself to breathe as she interviewed some of the world's biggest stars, telling them "Ellen's being a full-on legend letting me come here".

The young surfer from Newcastle first appeared on Ellen in December and has since been invited back a few times.

"My favourite thing about you," Sabre gushed to Gwen Stefani, "is that you're such a powerful woman and you tell girls that they can be whoever they want to be and that it's OK to be different."

Perhaps her most hilarious chat was with comedian Kevin Hart who refused her offer to try some Vegemite or donuts.

"I don't want no Vegemite!" Kevin said. "I fell for that before. And I don't want [donuts] either -- have you seen my body?"

Of course, Sabre responded asking him to "flex" to which Kevin obliged -- before quickly realising it probably wasn't a great look -- you know, flexing for a 12-year-old on camera and all.

He quickly recovered: "That’s not appropriate, you’re a kid -- I forgot for a second".

"I was in flex mode, and I put it right back down!"

After the carpet came the slime and there actually isn't a price you could put on the Sabre's face when she realised what was happening.

Of course, she loved it.

"Ellen, you let me come here and act like I was a celebrity," Sabre said before signing off. "I just want to thank you for all that you've done for me."
