Armie Hammer's estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers performs sage cleanse at her home amid ex's social media scandal

Elizabeth Chambers, the estranged wife of Armie Hammer, appears to be cleansing her home in the wake of the actor's social media scandal.

In a clip the actress shared on Instagram this week, the 38-year-old was seen burning two sage bundles as she worked from her home office in the Cayman Islands, where she currently lives with the couple's children, Harper, six, and Ford, four.

"And also, how much sage is too much sage? asking for a friend obv," the mum-of-two asked her followers.

Chambers and Hammer were together for 13 years and married for 10 years before they split in July 2020. 

"Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents," the wrote in a joint statement at the time. "It has been an incredible journey, but together, we've decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage."

But just six months later the couple found themselves back in the headlines when in January screenshots of a woman's private DMs with Hammer were leaked.

The messages alleged to have been sent by Hammer, 34, shared graphic sexual fantasies, some of which mention cannibalism. The messages have not been verified.

At first, Chambers kept her silence as the scandal played out on social media, but on February 2 the actress released a statement.

"For weeks, I've been trying to process everything that has transpired. I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated," she wrote on Instagram. "Heartbreak aside, I am listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters. I didn't realize how much I didn't know.

"I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal … My sole focus and attention will continue to be on our children, on my work and on healing during this incredibly difficult time."
