Heart singer Ann Wilson shares cancer update months after postponing tour: 'Worst is over'

Ann Wilson, lead singer of rock band Heart, has shared a health update months after announcing her cancer diagnosis and postponing the band's tour.

The singer said in a new video she has finished chemotherapy and ready to tour again.

"I know lots of you have been wondering how I've been doing. So I thought it'd be best if you heard this straight from me," Wilson said in a voiceover clip posted to Instagram.

"I'm doing absolutely fine now but it's been, to put it mildly, a lot."

Wilson then got candid about her chemotherapy treatment, calling it "no joke".

"It takes a lot out of a person," she explained. "And then there's that two weeks of waiting around for test results, a form of mental torture."

The rockstar said her test results had come back looking good.

"I'm so excited to share with you that I'm now finished with chemo and I'm officially ready to get ready for the tour in 2025!"

Wilson said she had further "maintenance" treatments to undergo, however said the side effects were supposed to be "less severe" and confirmed the "worst is over".

The Heart rocker signed off by thanking everyone for their love and encouraging others to get regular health checks.

The singer announced in July she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy after having surgery to remove a cancerous growth.

In her statement Wilson said she would be taking the rest of the year off at her doctors' request "in order to fully recover."

The band postponed their remaining North American Royal Flush Tour dates to 2025.

The European tour leg had previously been canceled in May.

At the time the reason was cited as Wilson having to undergo "a time-sensitive but routine procedure for which the minimum recovery time is six weeks."

Wilson is the lead singer of the rock band, starring her sister Nancy Wilson on guitar.

The group was first formed in Vancouver in 1973.
