Dan McPherson shares son's milestone on Twitter just hours before ringing in the New Year

Daniel McPherson has shared his son's milestone just hours before ringing in 2021.

In a video shared on Twitter the Australian actor's son Austin Xavier can be seen taking what may be his first, wobbly steps.

The actor posted the video along with the caption: "With just 4 hours and 27 minutes left, 2020 waited right until the buzzer to throw out the highlight of the year."

McPherson shares Austin Xavier with fellow actor, estranged wife, Zoe Ventoura. They started dating while working on the drama Wild Boys in 2011. They were engaged in December 2014 and married on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland in November 2015.

Austin Xavier was born on 1st December 2019, with the couple managing to keep his birth a secret for eight months.

They announced their separation in a joint sThey announced their separation in a joint s published on their Instagram accounts in December 2020. It reads: "With the greatest respect for each other, Zoë and I have separated. Together, we will continue wholeheartedly to raise our beautiful boy Austin. He is, and will forever be, our greatest priority.

"We ask for your respect and will be making no further comment."

McPherson appears to be a doting dad, with his social media accounts filled with photos of his son.

In a birthday post McPherson wrote: "And in a heartbeat, he's one. Happy Birthday my Little King" alongside a photo of the boy playing with an wood 'Austin' puzzle. He also shared a photo of Austin wearing a Liverpool football club jersey in November.

While both McPherson and Ventoura shared photos of their son, they are careful not to show his face, choosing to protect his privacy as much as possible.

A photo showing Ventoura exercising at the gym in early November shows only Austin's feet as he rests in a nearby stroller.

In October a photo of Austin is on her social media accounts with his face obscured by a baseball cap with a large letter 'A' on it.
