Bonnie Sveen on what triggered her Logies acceptance speech about body image

She's the Home and Away star who has been pushing positive body image since that moving speech at the 2014 TV Week Logies Awards. Check it out above.

But 26-year-old Bonnie Sveen has now revealed the trigger for her acceptance speech for Most Popular New Talent, in which she thanked fans and producers for accepting "a natural and healthy young woman on their screens".

She told the Daily Telegprah that a woman came up to her on the beach and started discussing her on-screen romance with Brax (Steve Peacocke).

"I don't think you're right for Brax at all," the woman told Sveen. "You're too fat."

The actress explained: "No one has ever spoken to me like that before and it definitely got me thinking."

But Bonnie says instead of being angry at the woman, she decided to take a positive spin and thank those who have accepted her.

"I felt that I needed to point out the obvious thing that was left unsaid — that I am a different kind of female protagonist. In the context of screen actors, I am bigger."
