Canadian engineer channels Iron Man with questionably named 'arm thrusters'

A Canadian man is one step closer to becoming a real-life Tony Stark, after successfully testing a pair of "arm thrusters".

With the support of a stunt wire system, James Hobson – also known as “the Hacksmith” – uses the machines to hover above the ground.    

The incredible footage of Hobson's test flight was uploaded to YouTube just yesterday but has already been watched 33,000 times.

While the first test goes well, on the second attempt one, of the arm thrusters fails and briefly catches fire.

Hobson, who stays remarkably calm during the ordeal, was not hurt.

The arm thrusters aren't Hobson's first invention - the engineer quit his job to focus on backyard creations fulltime, which he documents on his YouTube channel.
