Brisbane bus drivers go delightfully overboard on Christmas decorations

If you think you're a Christmas crusader because you stuck a Rudolph nose to your car, prepare to be shown the heck up.

Because the folks who keep the Brisbane buses moving have got waaaaay more Christmas cheer than you.

And jingle our bells, just look at how delightfully overboard they went on their Christmas decorations.

This tasteful and totes not over-the-top explosion of tinsel and joy is part of the Brisbane City Council's Christmas bus decorating competition.

And sweet baby cheeses, do the staff get amongst it.

Some depots went for a traditional look, others went for an Aussie twist on Christmas and some just went full bonkers, creating a festive night club with enough flashing lights and glitter to make your morning trip to work a North Pole rave party.

It's like someone ate all the decorations at the two-dollar shop and projectile vomited Christmas cheer everywhere… but in the best possible way.

This year the team at the Virginia Depot took out the grand prize, but the real winners are commuters in Brisbane because these buses/public transport sleighs are actually going to be hitting the streets thoughout December.

Posted to the Brisbane City Council Facebook page on Tuesday night, a super cut of decorated buses  has already clocked up more than 10,000 views.

On Twitter, the video was hashtagged with #merrybrismas and good golly that makes us happy. 

Bravo bus drivers, you're right up there on the nice list this year.
