People are using boiled eggs to apply their damn makeup

Alright people, we've reached peak makeup tutorial madness.

One makeup artist has obviously had a bloody gutful of shelling out for 'spency foundation applicators, sponges and brushes and thought "screw it, I'm going to use this boiled egg".

Yep a boiled egg.

And now, it's kind of a thing.

Vlogger Nadi kick started the trend on his channel PopLuxe, releasing a video of him applying makeup using only a peeled, boiled egg.

Sure, it's a weird idea but this is a guy who brings us tweets like this, so it's not too out of left field.

Noting how rank it smelled, Nadi did give the egg props for being so cold.

"It's like, super refreshing," he says.

Then UK makeup artist Esther Gbudje was like "why the heck not?" and gave it a crack (we promise that's our only egg pun in this whole story).

Uploading her attempt on her Instagram account houseofsienna three days ago, the clip has already notched up nearly 200,000 views.

"I have seen loads of beauty hacks using different things as blending sponge like (tomatoes), kitchen scourers, pads (and) even condoms," she said.

Riiight.

Admittedly, the end result doesn’t look too bad.

It certainly doesn't look like it was achieved with an egg.

But we do have to wonder what these beauty bloggers' faces smell like afterwards, because boiled eggs don't have the best odour.

In fact, they downright reek.

But we guess you do what you have to do into order to take a good selfie.

Beauty is pain, and it seems beauty is dank smells as well.
