Blind assassin no bigger than a pingpong ball
The golden mole is completely blind, but that hasn't stopped it from becoming a deadly and efficient predator.
Native to Southern Africa, the furry little fellow is no bigger than a ping pong ball.
Because it has no eyesight, it relies on sound to navigate its environment and detect its prey.

The golden mole intermittently rams its face into the sand as it walks along to pick up vibrations of moving insects, with its head acting as a giant amplifier.
It's then able to spring surprise attacks on unsuspecting creepy crawlies.
