VIDEO: Stop what you're doing and look at this huge pig

There's really only one way to introduce this story.

We can't over-intellectualise it or frame it in any other way other than leading with: oi mate look at this massive bloody pig.

Like, blow me down, this porker is an absolute corker.

This big fella has been spotted strutting the streets of South Phenix City, Alabama and the only thing bigger than his massive rig is the internet fanfare he created.

He first surfaced on Facebook when Alabama woman Angela Rena quite rightly posted a live feed of her slowly driving past this fella.

She then posted a whole bunch of shots of this guy doing his thang with the caption "big ass hog walking the streets in South Phenix City".

Obviously, this went viral.

While her original posts only chalked up a couple hundred shares, the story was picked up a host of local news masthead and then went on to infect the viral news sites around the world.

It's pretty impressive to see a pig this big outside of George's Marvellous Medicine.

And for people who didn't grow up around mad-keen pig shooters and the graphic pigging magazines that's part of the territory, it's mind-boggling to think a hog could grow to the size of family fridge-freezer combo.

But pigs can grow to be extremely large.

The world record for the heaviest pig is held by a Tennessee porker called Big Bill, who weighed in at 1157kg in 1933. 

That's a lot of bacon.
