VIDEO: You can watch fluffy baby falcons growing up on a 24hr live steam

They're not the Real Housewives of Melbourne, but they're probably the most-watched birds in the Victorian capital.

A pair of peregrine falcons have become internet celebrities after birdwatchers noticed eggs in their nest, located high above Melbourne's CBD.

The falcon family lives on the 35th floor at 367 Collins Street, right in the heart of Melbourne.

Their home is a nest which has been at the prestigious address since 1991.

Live footage of their home, which is the only nesting place for the rare birds in the city, is streamed via the magic of the internet and it has become strangely addictive feed.

Birdwatchers were keeping an eye on the stream, expecting the eggs to hatch in late September.

But it wasn't until the wee hours of October 4 when the chicks finally hatched.

Their birth was broadcast live over the internet and was cause for jubilation in the Victorian capital. 

You can watch the little fluff balls growing into graceful birds of prey 24 hours a day, and it's weirdly compelling watching them go about their daily lives.

Like, they're not doing anything particularly exciting but you can't stop watching – which is essentially the basis of all great reality TV.
