Women stop traffic to help a baby alligator cross the road safely

Ah Florida, the top End of the US.

It may have significantly less khaki and Akubras, but this video shows the tropical state has plenty of similarities with our mates up north.

Just substitute out crocs with their alligators, and it’s pretty well much for muchness.

What you’re looking at here are two women helping a young alligator cross a busy road in Orlando, a major city in Florida.

As we read in a yarn from Daniel Dahm form Click Orlando, it’s believe the gator was lost after straying from a nearby park, where there’s a lake. 

They saw the baby predator on the road while stopped at traffic lights, jumped out of their cars and carefully made sure the little fella made it across safely.

The kind act was filmed by Catherine Kerr, who posted it to Facebook on Sunday.

By Tuesday morning, the clip had been viewed more than 40,000 times.

It prompted a lot of reptile-related love, with people chiming in with a couple of yarns that suggests Florida is one wild bit of gear.

“I did that at my son's elementary school in the parking lot at the front office... I used my cane to tap behind the Alligator's rear legs,” Facebooker Richard Moschetti said.

“Always help a swamp kitten in need,” said Jennifer Carlin.
