Bald eagle lands on Minnesota firefighters’ September 11 tribute

Firefighters in the US were stunned when a bald eagle landed on their display in remembrance of the 9/11 terror attack.

Crew members from the Andover Fire Department had strung up an American flag over a busy Minnesota bridge using firefighting trucks.

They were moved when the iconic American bird landed on the display, with Fire Chief Jerry Streich taking to Facebook to share the moment.

“Isn’t that unbelievable,” he said.

A Facebook live video had clocked up more than 2.2 million views in 15 hours, resonating with a lot of Americans.

“What better symbol is there of American freedom,” one Facebooker said.

“That eagle is a great reminder that we live in the home of the free, because of the brave,” another said.
