For the past two years, Big Miracles has explored the emotional experience of creating human life with all its highs and lows.

A first look at Season 3 gives a raw insight into the "beautiful stories that will make Australia believe".

In the trailer we see familiar face Sheila, from Season 2, proudly showing off her growing bump.

"My belly is getting so big!" she beams.

Big Miracles comes as a poignant reminder that everyone's journey is different.

We meet one woman who is looking to start a family solo.

"I feel like the only way of doing it is by doing it on my own," she says.

While some can go it alone, for others it's a group effort – as is the case when we're introduced to another woman, who was born without a uterus, and is looking to create life via a surrogate.

No matter how someone starts a family there's one thing that remains consistent across everyone's experience – the sheer emotion of it all.

"I'm dying to be a mum," one woman yearns.

While another struggles as she is "pushing her body through so much".

There is heartbreak and tears as one family is delivered some disappointing news.

Some families will get their happy ending as we see the ultimate miracle for the mums and dads who have persevered through so much – the birth of a child.

"It's really remarkable that a human being has 30 trillion cells starting from just one. That's a miracle," a doctor says.
