Vote yes for palm oil labelling: Zoos Vic

If an orangutan can do it - you can too.

That's the message from Melbourne Zoo's 13-year-old Sumatran orangutan Malu, who will show just how easy it is for people to join the Don't Palm Us Off campaign by sending an email to ministers asking them to support clear labelling of palm oil in Australia.

"With a vote on palm oil labelling just four weeks away, we urgently need people from all over Australia to take action right now," Zoos Victoria's Rachel Lowry said.

Without clear labelling, consumers cannot tell whether they are contributing to the deaths of more than 1000 orangutans a year as their rainforest habitat is cleared for oil palm plantations.
