Reddit has been set up in Australia for a year now, and the data speaks true - Aussies love to get involved with their communities.
It's no surprise that the subreddit r/Australia is the most popular for Aussie users, with over 900,000 members.
Melburnians are the biggest Redditors, the r/Melbourne subreddit now has half a million users.

It's also no surprise we love our footy. The AFL subreddit has seen a 53 per cent year-on-year increase, which can partly be attributed to the world-first Reddit avatars announced earlier this year.
Reddit has also highlighted some of the more niche Aussie groups, like r/magpie, a subreddit entirely devoted to the gargling bird.

The past twelve months have been wild for Australian internet users; we've had catastrophic weather events, COVID-19 lockdowns and, of course, a federal election.
