Japanese man writes world’s biggest proposal note

A Japanese GPS artist has hiked almost 7000km to create the world's largest proposal message.

Yassan, born Yasushi Takahashi, spent six months walking around the islands of Japan in 2012, following a carefully mapped path photographed on the ground by satellite.

He left his girlfriend behind without much explanation and travelled predominantly by foot, but took the occasional ferry or car.

At the end of his long journey, Yassan uploaded his GPS data to Google Earth, where the following message appeared in English.

"Marry me(?)"

It stretched the length and width of Japan and featured a heart shot with an arrow over the island Hokkaido.

The feat, which was captured on film in the newly released Walkumentary Series, was confirmed by Guinness World Records as the largest GPS drawing to date and successfully won him a fiancée.
